Fire at school

No, I don't mean a drill. To be brief, what happened was that at lunchtime I was queuing outside a building adjacent to our dining hall, when I smelt burning. Immediately after that the fire alarm went off and smoke started billowing out of the dining hall. All the people were evacuated, and apparently it was just a fire in the kitchen.

I've been in drills before, but this is the first one I've experienced for real. Apparently in 2009 the library caught fire and the entire school nearly burnt down (thankfully I joined in late 2011).

Yeah, that has happened to me too. Some kids were secretly smoking in the bathroom, one of them threw a cigar in the trash bin, and there was a big fire in the bathroom They evacuated the school and we lost an hour of lessons.

In my old school the Chemistry lab caught on fire because the vent was closed. Fortunately it was recess. The teacher got fired afterwards. I hate drills, as I must tell you, I am really scared of fire. Anyway, I'm glad to know that you're safe.

Wait, I overheard some teachers talking and apparently one of the Sixth Formers released a smoke bomb (hence the smoke) which caused one of the kitchen staff to knock something over in their haste, thus causing the fire. I'll never understand these Sixth Form teenagers.

P.S The reason that this happened without them being punished is because it was their last day, and the teachers allow them to perform one 'prank' on their last day, providing it does not result in physical harm to other students. Last year they threw spoons at the computers during an ICT lesson and then dumped an entire sack of forks on the teacher's desk, whilst wearing a stolen gorilla costume from the Drama Department (one of them did A Level Drama, I know that because he's my friend's big brother) and squirting water pistols at everyone. Yes, I was there. No, I have no idea how they got water pistols.
