Club Penguin Blog has launched!!!

I thought it was launching at 00:00 AM GMT on January 1st? (You posted that at 10:59 PM)

Anyway, I hope you all have fun reading Club Penguin Blog! I have managed to summon the energy to Tweet about the launch and in about 12 hours I'll perhaps upload an ad video for CPB to YouTube! Isn't that exciting?

Now, let's remember that Club Penguin Blog would never be here without the tireless hard work and effort that Sindar Toffe has devoted to the development. I'm sure when I say this I am speaking not only for the whole staff, but for all the members here at CPF: THANK YOU SINDAR!! Let's give him three cheers, eh?

I did launch it at 00:00GMT, I just posted this early so I didn't have to do everything at midnight. Thanks , it wasn't all me though; all the staff put something into the site.

I found out that we are on PAGE 1 on GOOGLE UK! We are 8TH on Page 1, below Club Penguin Cheats by Mimo77!

I can't wait to see the advert for Club Penguin Blog and the Forum!

In my opinion, it's ugly and overdone.

In my professional opinion though, it can be worked on and have a lot of the flash stuff removed.

Well, it's not that TCPC is any better.

Anyway, I think it's fine. The only think I don't like is that text in the posts is too small.

Ugly?! Sindar has worked hard since October on CPB. We appreciate your feedback, but saying it is ugly is impertinence.

We will try to improve, but the staff have done their best. As for Flash, the entire website is Flash-based. There'd be nothing left. As far as I know, we're converting to HTML5 soon.

@Gotchee - Yes, the text is a bit on the smaller side. I'll talk to Sindar about increasing the size.

@Gotchee and Ccpenguin8 - Yes, I have also been thinking about how small the text is. I have just fixed it, I hope the new size is much bigger than the tiny default setting.

@Lostie - I am sad to hear that you find the site ugly. I can't remove the Flash stuff because the whole site is Flash. We are converting to HTML5 soon.

It is really cool! The only problem I had was when I scrolled down to view posts, It kinda flickered then went back to the top post, and for me it takes forever to scroll down. Also, when you convert to HTML, could I maybe help make the theme? I know how to do the althualpa theme, with one sidebar or two. I designed my site and a few other sites. I dont have to do it, only if you want me to if someone else already isnt doing it .

I knew that when I saw you were mercilessly attacking me on Twitter, you would come here too. The real question is why I haven't banned you yet. Oh yes! Now I remember. You can't take that, can you?

CPCP and TCPCF constantly flamed each other because of a long lost rivalry. Then we came into existence, and certain individuals including yourself started to bother us.

We spoke with the TCPCF staff and we've settled it down. They agree that it shouldn't happen anymore and so do we. So, they're good people now and we get on. It's my job to make sure things stay that way.

Now, I seem to remember that this is a thread about CPB. This has nothing to do with CPB and Sindar is probably very upset that the thread has gone this way. So, let's get back on topic.

Indeed, this is supposed to be a thread where we celebrate CPB's launch because it is a massive milestone for the forum. Back to topic, please.

@Mango - Yes, I have that too. Just keep scrolling and you should be able to move down the page. I'll work on a fix. Thanks for the offer, but the site will look exactly the same, no new theme will be designed. However, I already know that I'd like everyone to contribute to the new theme for Summer 2013, because I want to keep CPB's modern, easy-to-use and pleasing to the eye.

I checked the site out, and I only have one concern. The Graphics. You see, not all of them are well rendered, and the black text makes them seem dull. If Mango could recreate them in a similar design to the ones on her site, CPB would get a new amazing look.

Anyway, apart from the look, the website seems good.

Well, Mango is a PR Department employee now (Yes, Mango, you got the job. I just haven't had time to send an email to you) and I'm still waiting for her to finish a couple of advertisement banners, but when she's done perhaps she'll be kind enough to redesign CPB's graphics. We'll see what Sindar thinks. Thanks for the feedback!

Another problem with the white background is that the text color is a sliver too close to the color of white, making it hard to read. So a darker text color should fix that.

Lastly, I think the images could use some work. I see this very vived black outline around the Club Penguin logo at the top. That'll drive people away because they think that your images will be unprofessional! Trust me, I'm right on this. People like to see professional done pictures, if they see random dots of colors that don't fit in your pictures, they will think you don't put a lot of effort into them.

But other than those minor downfalls, it's a fantastic Club Penguin blog. 1 huge reason is that you didn't go all out with fancy codes and stuff that really take away from the point in blogging. So yeah, great site Sindar. Nice work!
