Club Penguin Blog reopens on the 3rd!

Yay!  It's opening!  

(Now KK wants to know when new authors are gonna be picked!  )

I'm very glad you're enthusiastic! As for authors, that depends on who will be permanently running the Blog (Maygirl might want to do it herself, or I might take it over as planned).

If I run it, I'll probably be hiring one author in mid-September, who will be appointed with the staff vote system.

I'll still be on until probably a few days after (probably up to the 10th max) while I sort out preparations for reopening, transfer, etc.

when is it gonna re open? its been a few days past the 3rd and it is still closed.

I've done my part; the transfer is complete. I am not sure as to why the blog isn't open yet; Ccpenguin8 told me that he would reopen it last night. The blog isn't closing; Ccpenguin8 should make another announcement soon.

I have no idea how to get rid of the extended maintenance page.

You must all think I'm incompetent - I am really sorry for the delay; it is entirely my fault and the Blog will be open once I figure this out.

First, I thought it was the homepage, and secondly, the login page won't load.

I'll try again with a different broswer..

Update: Can you all do a favour for me? Try clicking the Login button at the bottom of CPB.co.uk and tell me if it works...it doesn't for me. Anyway, I've got the text of the new pages I plan on adding, so it should be fine once I manage to login and remove the maintenance page. I sincerely apologise for the delay, everyone: once I get past these unfortunate problems, CPB will be back open as normal with even more great Club Penguin cheats news!

I gave you instructions in the PM The Login button is working; the Login page is set to the Closed page when CPB is down to make it easier to close the site. If you change it back to Login via People -> Settings. Then follow the instructions in the PM.

True. Our host, Webeden, uses the worst possible billing system - I'm trying to pay for it.

I'm sad to hear that you're having issues. :(When you have paid for it once, you won't need to pay for it again (unless you cancel the renewal), so you won't need to go through the issues you're having again and again. WorldPay is used by businesses (I have no idea why), I'm still here if you need any billing help

The only problem is that I can cover the costs through PayPal, because I have money in my PP account, but not through credit card...and WorldPay doesn't accept PayPal. Therefore, unless I get a credit card overnight, I have no idea how on Earth I can pay.

You could ask your parents if you could use their credit / debit card, or you could open your own bank account (like an RBS Revolve account) and use it on WorldPay and real life.

It's almost been 2 weeks.. :/

It is my sad duty to report that unfortunately, CPB will not be re-opening in its present form, unless some kind of miracle happens.

I have pursued every conceivable option available to me but I just can't find a way to cover the costs. Webeden, our beloved host, only accepts a payment method which is incompatible with people like me who can cover the costs through earnings such as PayPal, but don't actually have any form of credit card to pay for it. I have asked my parents, but they aren't willing to pay for this only 2 months after my birthday, and weeks after a foreign holiday.

I also looked at Moonfruit - a friendlier and more modern webhost, which seems perfect to CPB's needs. Unfortunately, this too only accepts the payment method in question, and therefore that is implausible as well.

I am trying my best to find some sort of alternative host which will live up to CPB's premium standards, but I'm not sure how successful that will be.

If worst comes to worst, we may have to move to a free blogging site like Blogger, but that is really a last resort as we always try to make CPB stand out.

I know, this is very inconvenient for all of you, and please accept my sincerest apologies. I feel absolutely awful, and words cannot express the apologies that I feel like giving to you all (especially Sindar).

I am still looking, and chances are that CPB will continue with another host, but there is no possible way that we will be staying in our present form. 


With my greatest apologies for the inconveniences and once I have talked with Sindar and Maygirl thoroughly about this, I will be sure to let you know what will happen.

I am obviously sad that Club Penguin Blog will remain closed until further notice, because about one year ago I started discussing the possibilites pitching the idea of opening a blog and 'independence' to Maygirl with Ccpenguin8. I'd like to thank all the penguins who have supported the blog over the past 9 months, it's been fun!

If anyone is interested in running Club Penguin Blog, I personally don't want it to be sold / ran by anyone else, but we'll have to see what CCP says
 This will probably be my last post on Club Penguin Forum, because sorting out what will happen to the blog has been completed.

Tell me the price. Lets see if we all can pitch a little in.

£15 GBP; $23.82 USD; €17.90 EUR.

That's not much - I could pay for that easily with my PayPal account. However, the whole problem is that it doesn't accept PayPal, and it doesn't accept donations either. Just direct bank transfer or credit card, and you have to pay the full amount - not little chunks.

I considered this option (donations), but again, it won't work. CPB will not be re-opening in its present form - perhaps soon it'll re-open with a new webhost, though.
