Hmm, that's a hard question. I have many favorites authors, but I will list 3 of them here:
J.R.R Tolkien : I love all of his stories - They're great
Rick Riordan : I like the way he writes - Its catchy.
J.K Rowling : I like the Harry Potter series, and I'm beginning to read her newest book, '' The Casual Vacancy ''.

I read every single book by him, at least four times. I read Percy Jackson and The Olympians series around 8 times. His writing is entertaining, well described, and very funny. Heroes of Olympus had a different concept, but still focused on the same characters. Both series are amazing. Recently two new books by Rick Riordan came out. The Demigod Diaries, and The Mark of Athena. I already read both books three times, as they're amazing. I'm really looking forward to House of Hades coming out in October 2013.
Kane Chronicles were a good idea for a new series. All the interesting Egyptian gods make amazing characters. It's mysterious, and contains lots of cliff-hangers. 3 amazing books, with Serpent's Shadow as the newest one.
Amazing Author. Amazing Books.

I did read it 3 times. I got it on iBooks as soon as it was out, and I love reading, so I read it a lot of times. I don't have any signed copies of any of his books. I have all of his books on iBooks.

He's my favorite too!!!! And guess what?? I GOT TO MEET HIM!!!! : D And I have a signed copy of the throne of fire to prove it!!!!! He came to my town around this time last year. It was awesome!! The guys a genius!! I even got to ask him a couple of questions!! Before the signing, he gave a speech about how he wrote the books, etc. It was hilarious! His son had ADHD and dyslexia, and was really into Greek myths. So every night he would ask his dad to tell him a Greek myth. Eventually, they ran out. His son then asked him to make on up. Thus, Percy, modern day demigod was created. He wrote it down and asked some kids he knew to rate it. They all loved it (duh) so he sent to a publisher. A few months later. The lightning their came out.
I heard that he's doing a Norse series next, and then he's gonna merge all the series together.
Maybe we should start a pj group on the forum.

Yeah, I often find it hard to choose my favourite author(s) too. J.R.R Tolkien is good - I read The Hobbit about a year ago, and I'm drifting in and out of the Fellowship of the Ring.
J.K Rowling is great. I read all the Harry Potter series, and they are some of my favourite books. My favourite book, at a stretch, would be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. A tad long, though.
As for Rick Riordan, as I said below, I've never heard of him.

Nice photo.
Anyway, seems like a great author, who has written lots of books! Unfortunately, I have never heard of him.
P.S On a more serious note, you just about escaped a warning for link advertising. If you had just put Rick Riordan's website on it's own, that would've been advertising. Since you put the 'more information' part, I'm letting you off because the link is helpful to the community.
Re: Who is your favourite author?
My favourite author is Anthony Horowitz. He writes the Alex Rider series which I love and I have read them all, of course!

Re: Who is your favourite author?
Aw you guys. Rick is a good one, but James Patterson would be my favorite. Hes got so many books.. and I've got some more to read, but if you know me, I don't "just read" unless I'm in the mood or I have a good book. Read one of James's books Start to finish in 3 hours. That was fun.
