Having problems with your computer? Well, have no fear. I created this thread because of a recent...meltdown my Mac had (all fixed now, thankfully).

So, yeah. If your computer is having trouble, then make a post here so somebody can help you with it! Very Happy

Yes. The purpose of bumping is placing an old thread at the 'top', above new and popular threads. A thread like this which is sticky can be bumped, as far as I'm aware. Smile

So, let's get back on topic. Anyone need any help?

My computer connects to my wireless printer, and it used to work fine. But now when I try to print something it does not print, even if the connection to the printer is working fine and the printer is on. Do you have any tips?

Three possible issues I can see:

The connection is NOT FINE.
You accidentally clicked the wrong printer in your word processor.
The ink/paper is running low.

If in doubt, check the website of your manufacturer. Wink

Computer Help Empty Well, I'm absolutely doomed.

Post  Ccpenguin8 19/8/2013, 7:56 pm

CONFOUND THIS INFERNAL STUPID COMPUTER! I mean, honestly, there is a SERIOUS design flaw with Macs - specifically the Pages application.

I had literally just written the best newsletter that I have EVER WRITTEN in the history of running Ccpenguin's Newsletter, and when I was saving it, my mouse jerked and I clicked delete instead of save! So now it's all gone and my newsletter is doomed, as I can't possibly slap together something like that with only 6 minutes to go until my deadline.

If someone has a solution to this problem, please do let me know.

Windows.

Anywho, I've had an issue with my desktop as it keeps hitting 40 degrees within 3 minutes of launch.

It's overclocked from 3.7 GHz to 4.3 GHz, but it heats up and turning off even with liquid cooling turned on.

@Ccpenguin8 - The only solution I know is to save as you go along in case of emergencies :(You could try using iWork for iCloud as well when it releases, because I'm pretty sure it auto-saves.

I did find some recovery software for deleted files which may help too, you should be able to find some free software with a quick search Smile

@RadioActivitii - Maybe you overclocked it too much if it is suddenly doing this after overclocking your CPU?

I overclocked a laptop CPU to a higher rate and that's fine.

What CPU Do you have?

I've got an Athlon X4 750K, and with air cooling im running from 40C idle to 60C+ under load.

EDIT: If you actually read this.. my readings were inaccurate, I went into the BIOS and the CPU was actually running 30-35C on Idle.

What liquid CPU Cooler do you have.. The radiator could have dust buildup.. or the fans might not be working properly.

Overclocking will produce more heat.. I'm running at 3.7Ghz Stock speed.
