How long do you think Club Penguin will last for?

How long do you think Club Penguin will last for?

I think it will probably keep going until around 2016, but it could close before considering how much Disney are 'milking' the game until there is no more money left. Sad

Probably up to 2017, and maybe even longer. Disney is making enough cash out of it and I don't see the reason they would close it earlier than that. But as you said, when they're done "milking" the game, they're probably gonna shut it down...

I'm just glad Disney hasn't bought and ruined other good games, like RuneScape Razz

Disney will never be able to buy Jagex.. Too expensive.. wrong age group too, and they are already partly owned by another company.. so no worries there! Very Happy

Until penguins are extinct.

There, the cold hard truth.

Disney's using these creatures "penguins" , unknown to most people, as game characters.

So...

Yep. Razz

@King Kane - I doubt that the game will last that long.

After Toontown's sudden closure, who knows? I think it's a possibility that the game will go down the drain in the next few years, like Toontown, it depends if the people who ruined Toontown come to Club Penguin, really.

I know too, just saying. Smile Could be a probability!

Toontown was great- until Disney stopped milking it in about '08 (from then till now) you barely see any TOontown ads) .

I think CP might last until Disney creates a new game, better than CP.

2017 would be my guess. Not many games pass the 10 year mark.

But we can always be optimistic, and I hope that one day CP will even run on the holographic video consoles that everyone's great-great-grandchildren will have! Razz

12 years? I'm not sure; we'll have to see if Disney can stop the gameplay from becoming stale.
Razz That would be nice, but considering that Disney hasn't bothered to try to keep a game open which has Mickey Mouse, it seems unlikely Sad

Well: I was counting it from the time when Disney bought the game, so ten. Razz

As for TT, maybe not - the petition could work...?
