The Penguin Agency/TPA: Corn Capers
Story 1 in the epic series

AUTHOR'S NOTE: What if, when PSA Mission 10 (the Veggie Villain) happened and the PSA was destroyed, it wasn't the EPF who helped them escape. What if the PSA hired another agency, handling missions so secret that nobody, not even the EPF, is aware of it's existence to help because of the desperate nature of the mission? What if this agency still exists with Gary as a technical consultant and Director, handling missions so secret and so dangerous that even the ELITE Penguin Force cannot handle? And what if that agency was called The Penguin Agency? If that were true, the course of events would go something like this...

Below the Sports Shop, Club Penguin

Borse, the purple penguin Chief of Operations for the Penguin Agency sat in disbelief on his brown swivel chair, coffee mug in hand. He opened up the urgent communique from Gary. "Borse," said the recorded image of Gary, the image crackling. "We have a code delta blue situation. Yes, that's right, code delta blue. I've been locked out of the PSA mainframe and Herbert is currently broadcasting some kind of public announcement to the   Ski Village. He's practically blabbering away our identities! Luckily he forgot to shut out the emergency messaging system which is why I'm speaking to you...I've sent some of the PSA agents out to block the signal. They're fiddling around with some movie disc and a signal tracer. Can you just get down there and plant this USB stick in Herbert's PC? I'm sending it to you on EPOL now...don't forget to-" The transmission evaporated into static and then the computer automatically shut down the program.

EPOL stood for Electronic Postal Operations Link. It was basically a long glass tube stretching from the Penguin Secret Agency headquarters to the Penguin Agency command centre, which propelled objects and mail secretly using electric currents. It was fast, smooth and undetectable. And, of course, Gary (the Penguin Agency's wonderful technical consultant and director) had given it to the Penguin Agency fifteen years before he would eventually pretend to have 'thought of the idea of the top of my head' and given it to the PSA. Borse opened up his EPOL terminal and took out some kind of USB stick. He sighed. He was too old for up-and-about missions like this. Time to call in the field guys. "Agent Marvin! Get down here!" ordered Borse. Then, when there was no response: "MARVIN! GET DOWN HERE THIS INSTANT OR..." he paused, trying to think of some horrific punishment which actually complied with the 678 chapters of the Agency Code of Conduct Book. "YOU'RE WORKING UNPAID OVERTIME! EVERY NIGHT!"

At that moment, a flustered looking cold blue penguin rushed into the room, his flippers shaking. He wasn't used to be spoken to like this - he was, after all, the Penguin Agency's top field agent, with 32 successful operations to his name. But that's another story. Borse briefed him and Marvin went pale. Ah well. he thought. What could possibly go wrong?

-

Marvin crept up onto the plateau where Herbert was operating, furiously tapping away at his PC, exposing those poor PSA penguins as he went. He looked across at the corn field in the distance - that under-intelligent PSA agent was still fumbling around trying to find a way to cross the river. Marvin chuckled. River, indeed! All he had to do was use his Ice-Maker 3000, generated from white puffle fur. Again, fifteen years ahead of PSA tech. He silently inserted the USB stick. The computer made an almost inaudible whirr, but Herbert was too busy gloating to notice it. On his Spy Phone's screen - a model which the EPF would release several years later during their 'Operation: Hot Sauce' - the Penguin OS logo appeared and soon a list of files and folders appeared. The omni-present voice of Gary sounded in his earpiece. "Excellent!" he said almost with delight. "We're in."

Several lines of code appeared on his screen which Marvin couldn't quite comprehend. Soon, however, they were interrupted by the PSA Agent finally stumbling up the ladder to the plateau. "...and now I would like to reveal the identity of an especially pesky agent who keeps revealing my plans. But, wait, he's here!" announced Herbert with an air of grandeur, the ever dominant host on a show being broadcast across the island of Club Penguin. "Quick, hide!" hissed Gary. "Don't let them see you. Maintain radio silence!"

Marvin ducked behind a row of corn. So far, so good.

That was when the popcorn bomb was teleported to PSA HQ.

-

Borse paled visibly when he saw the popcorn bomb arriving in PSA HQ on the Penguin Agency surveillance net. He tapped a command into his computer to send a satellite signal from the secret shack hidden in the Club Penguin Wilderness that would scramble the popcorn bomb's circuits. Nothing happened. For his trouble, he had a picture of Herbert scowling on his screen, followed by a look of curiosity - he had never seen this particular network before. And you won't see it again. thought Borse. He just had time to flush Herbert's IP out of the system before all Penguin Agency technology was shut down. He was astounded. This had never happened before. He looked up the EPOL tube into PSA HQ - a very dangerous act considering all the electric currents flowing down the tube. Gary was stumped. He was making no progress with the bomb, and this time he really was focusing all his brainpower on the PSA.

Thankfully some EPF girl teleported them to safety before the explosion went off. Oh well. thought Borse. At least we're intact.

And then: We're going to have a LOT more missions without the PSA in town. Best clear my calendar.

Well, that's the end of my story! Hope you liked it. Story 2 in the series is coming soon to CPF. Smile
