Metafunk: The Arrival Empty Metafunk: The Arrival

Post  RadioActivitii 18/5/2013, 12:38 am

I opened my eyes, my vision was blurred. I was in an empty room, nobody looking out at me. I stood up and felt blood drip down my face. Why was I here? What happened to me? I looked around when my vision came back, I saw an unlocked door and a vent. The vent was too small for me to fit in it, so I decided to go through the door. The lights were off, and nobody was around. I turned around and saw the switch. After pulling it, I heard engines. The engines must of had some rust on them considering they sounded like smashing two crowbars together. I leaped across the corridor as I heard electronic tones. “Welcome. This is the Tri-tri-triopt-tium S-s-space center.” said some unknown system, I thought to my self. This place was in my imagination, not reality.

A light flashed, and came to full power. “Unforeseen Consequences, Leave or fight and evidently die.” was written on the wall. I heard a massive crunch and I ran down the corridors, was I being chased? At this point, I was hoping so. The lights in the corridor flashed, uncovering more unnerving messages. They seemed written in blood. I hoped this was all a big dream and I had a nightmare. Oh how wrong I was. That electronic clanking, I heard it again! Its pitch became lower and lower, the notes in it’s melody were distorted. This place was screwed up. I ran and ran, the corridor was endless. A window, which lead to an office complex, was slightly smashed. I thought to myself briefly, either go through the window or die. I put my arms in front of my face and prepared for the shock of the window shattering. I lunged forward, through the window, smashing my head into the door. My eyesight blurred again, I saw blood dripping from my hands. I physically felt sick, I wiped the blood on my jumpsuit. I walked into the office corridor. “Hello, fellow employees. Emergency meetings will be held in Office Room 3E in Sector X on Thursdays.” announced the robotic voice. I followed the signs on walls. Sector X, it was collapsing. How has this space center even stayed up all of this time? I headed to the office room, I heard heavy breathing. “Who’s there?! We have guns!” shouted an unknown voice, another human! The man said ‘we’ so I instantly thought, more than one person. I’m safe. “Excuse me, I came from some sort of storage facility.” I replied, I heard rumbling come from the door. The door slid open. “Please, come in. The space center has been collapsing a lot; it’s safe here.” said the man, I still didn’t know his name.

We got guns and they healed me. “You have some bad injuries, were you attacked?” asked the medic, “No, I dived through the window into the offices. Can I ask what your name is though?” I answered. The medics name is Kyle Ioss, the man who opened the door was called Morgan Everett. Morgan was the CEO of TriOptium. “Who are you, anyway?” asked Morgan. I looked him in the eye with no emotion, I was confused. “I don’t know who I am.” I said, I was embarrassed in saying it. Kyle walked me towards the mirror and showed me my face.  I had cuts all over it, my hair was short, yet combed over. I had a black eye and broken nose. “I think I remember, my name is Dexter. I think, don’t quote me on this.” I said, softly. We went to sit in the office next to the meeting room. We heard a loud banging on the doors I used to get in. “Oh no! Those stupid.. whatever they are!” exclaimed Kyle, I was clueless. “Zombies..” continued Kyle. I stared at him. I grabbed the shotgun off the desk and went to the door. I typed the code to the keypad, the door unlocked. At least a dozen zombies started pouring in. I shot a zombie in it’s head. Blood splattered all over the room, green and blue liquid poured from it’s brain. Morgan shot 3 zombies with his pistol and Kyle decapitated a zombie.
“We need an escape plan, and quick.” I announced. They nodded to agree with me. Morgan grabbed a briefcase from under the desk in his office. He opened it. “A bomb, it’ll blow this center to hell. Of course, we’d of already left.” explained Morgan. I loaded up the monitor. “Escape pods... We go to them, eject ourselves and then trigger the bombs.” I further explained. Kyle seemed alarmed. Morgan fished the remote trigger from his briefcase. “Uh, Dex... Could you plant this bomb?” asked Morgan. I accepted. I walked down the corridor and planted the bomb underneath the window I smashed through. I shivered with the thought of me smashing through another window.
Chapter 2: Escapees
Me, Morgan and Kyle were walking down the corridor. “Escape pods damaged, use with caution.” announced the robotic voice again, Morgan looked puzzled and kicked the door open. The escape pods, they were rusted and looked like they’d break. Morgan used the controls on the wall to aim the station towards earth. “Now leaving the TriOptium Space Center, have a nice day!” said the voice. We headed for earth. I pressed the switch on the remote and heard an explosion. We looked outside of the window. Debris was flying everywhere, circling us. We thought of any possible survivors until a piece of debris smashed into the pod making us fly into earth at over 300 miles per hour. After various attempts of stabilizing the pod, we smashed into Earth. I opened my eyes, I couldn’t move. Kyle and Morgan looked as if they were injured. The shock of the crash shocked my entire body for several minutes. “Dexter! Help us!” shrieked Kyle, he seemed in pain. I climbed out of the pod slowly. Nobody knew what happened but me. I walked towards a house and closed the door, I went inside the house looking for help since Morgan and Kyle were obviously injured. “Hello, Dexter.” said a man with a deep voice.

Chapter 3: Unknown Streets
I was questioning the identity of the man who owned the house; he never introduced himself to me before he knocked me unconscious with a pistol.

“I am David Griaff, and I owned that space center you and Morgan destroyed... Next time you want to get noticed, don’t blow up my space center.” said David calmly, he was acting as if we didn’t do anything. “Let..us go you monster!” I cried, I was injured and we both saw that. Morgan and Kyle were out cold sat on chairs, you could see dry blood on their heads. “Now, why would I let you go when I can have fun with you hear?” replied David, I felt a tear drop run down my face. He saw me crying and all he did was laugh. I shouted at him, but my voice wasn’t strong. He slapped me for attempting to slap. “If you shout you’ll attract attention, and we don’t want you dying.” he laughed whilst speaking, the hatred I had against him was strong; I couldn’t show it without getting Morgan or Kyle killed. David then walked upstairs, I had no idea where we were but I knew that I could escape. Kyle opened his eyes slowly. “Un..foreseen consequences!” he exclaimed, I remembered the walls in the space center. “Kyle, Morgan! We need to leave, before we have to fight and... evidently die!” I exclaimed back, I shouted too loud and David heard. He reached for his pistol from his pocket, I attempted to knock it out of his hand.

He shot it. At Morgan. Morgan screamed and hit the floor, blood was all over the wall he was lead against and the floor. It reminded me of the zombies. “Morgan!” I shrieked, David grabbed the pistol from the floor and aimed it to my head.
I could feel the heat from the tip of the gun. I lead forward and snatched it from his hands. I couldn’t control my hands and I hit the trigger, it shot David in his leg. He fell to the floor; I helped Kyle and we ran out. David attempted gunning us down. He missed both shots. We ran down the streets as we smelt a toxic gas, we weren’t sure what it was from but we kept running.

Well, that's certainly a very 'different' type of story. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone under the age of about 11 or so.

I like the use of the classic 'wall messages' thing, but I won't say anything else - I have this awful cold thing. Smile

I love the 'get out and blow the place up' sort of thing - you see that a lot in films. I was a bit confused though..in Chapter One you said the space station was a TriOptium space station and Morgan was the CEO of TriOptium. So, if Morgan runs TriOptium, how can David own the space station? Or is David just meant to be dellusional?

Thanks,

Both David and Morgan were CEO's, but in chapter 3 Morgan died so David owns all of TriOptium.
