I think the system is designed so that everyone who is an active member that contributes positively gets a turn to get the UOTM at some point.

I presume you won it once the first time you were here, then when you came back a year later to start over, you won it again for your second time here.

As for the main question of this thread (why September not August?):- well, Maygirl couldn't find an August UOTM, and there's only 1 day left of August, so it'd be more like User of the Day rather than User of the Month.

Considering that the UOTM is usually announced on the 2nd or 3rd, it's actually more efficient to announce it the month before so that the winner has the WHOLE month to enjoy his/her title.

Thanks for mentioning me, but I'm practically disqualified from getting them. I haven't got a single one since about a month of me becoming mod; it'd be a nice surprise if I was UOTM, but I doubt that I'd be given that honour.

Anyway, I think it's because he's actually posted several times, and he was super inactive, so this is thanking him for coming back.
